Summer Lights Festival 101
Did you miss the very first Summer Lights Festival last year? If so, don’t worry. This popular event is back for a second season. The festival is held in Downtown Kitchener. All evening long, the city streets are flooded with fun-filled entertainment, food, artists, music, cultural events and more. Mark your calendar for this year’s event, happening June 20th from 8:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.
What to see
There is so much happening as a part of the Summer Lights Festival. No matter where you go in Downtown Kitchener, you are sure to find great food, fun and entertainment. For example, start at the Civic Polis, in and around City Hall (200 King Street West). Less than a ten-minute drive from Newport Towers Apartments (550 Strasburg Road), this area will serve as the heart of the Summer Lights Festival. Find maps and schedules at the Welcome Centre located here. Next, head to the Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery (101 Queen Street North). Kick off your festival experience at this laidback gallery, which will be open late with live music concert, improvisation performances and plenty of eye-catching artwork. The gallery is a ten-minute drive from Newport Towers Apartments.
