There’s lots to do in and around your Kitchener apartment this weekend, so make the most of the holiday with this guide from Williams and McDaniel, our preferred property manager.

In with a bang

While there aren’t any fireworks in Kitchener-Waterloo itself, you won’t have to travel too far from Newport Towers to watch the sky light up. The The Conestogo Winterbourne Optimist Club is expected to host their annual fireworks show on Saturday night, and there is a confirmed event happening on Monday in New Dundee. The New Dundee Victoria Day Celebration is just 15 minutes away and features a day packed full of family activities followed by fireworks at dusk. The celebration includes an antique car show, midway rides for kids, and plenty of food booths so you don’t need to pack a picnic.

Celebrate International Museum Day

Did you know that May 18th is International Museum Day? Many museums in Kitchener-Waterloo are honouring this day with special events or admission rates, so check out this roundup from Grand Social to help you decide which museums you’d like to visit. Leading up to International Museum Day, you’ll find a kid-friendly mystery at Waterloo Region Museum and Doon Heritage Village. Do you know any aspiring Sherlocks who are up to the challenge?

Head to Bingemans

You can find plenty of special offers for a fun long weekend at Bingemans. Enjoy savings on bowling, mini golfing, and a FunworX package that even includes a pizza. In addition to everything that you’d normally find at Bingemans, they will also be hosting a Psychic Fair at their conference centre. Stop by to learn more about yourself and your future. Bingemans is just 15 minutes from Newport Towers.
You’ll have an extra day to relax this weekend in Kitchener, so why not get out of your apartment and enjoy one of these great local options? For more information about Kitchener apartments from Williams and McDaniel, visit their website.
